The Women's Project in Ecuador
LIAT Ecuador is an Essex-based charity serving women and children in Ecuador.

The women's project has been set up to help women living with domestic violence. Women experience domestic violence behind closed doors.

We provide workshops and local talks to help break the cycle of violence within a relationship through education and training.
We help get women on training courses they can use to bring in an income to help them in the long term. Learn more about us, our beliefs, history and how we're run.
The women's project
This project reaches over 1,000 women per year, bringing hope and therapy to those who are abused and vulnerable throughout the city through large conferences and local talks. These raise awareness of domestic abuse and the need for respect and behavioural boundaries within relationships.
We offer free workshops teaching vulnerable women skills (handicrafts/jewellery, pattern cutting, and machining techniques) to empower them to generate an income and gain self-respect. This combination of talks and workshops:

According to CEIMME, 68% of Ecuadorian women have experienced domestic violence.
